David J. Wenc defends individuals and businesses in state and federal criminal investigations and prosecutions as well as regulatory and civil proceedings that may precede a criminal case.

David is an avid practitioner of criminal defense work and through membership in such organizations as the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys remains on the cutting edge of new developments in the law.

David is one of the few attorneys in Connecticut who has passed the rigorous screening of the National Board of Trial Advocacy to attain board certification as a Criminal Trial Advocate.   In addition, since 1976, he has been selected to serve on the federal Criminal Justice Act panel to represent indigent persons charged with federal crimes in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

David grew up in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, attended the local public schools and graduated from Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut.  David majored in political science at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and obtained his law degree at Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Public service has always been important to David.  Soon after getting his law degree, David returned to Windsor Locks where he served in local government before becoming his town's state representative in the Connecticut General Assembly where he served on the Judiciary Committee.

David's experience in local and state government has proved to be a valuable asset in his legal career, especially with respect to his regulatory practice, which has brought him before various governmental agencies in Connecticut and Massachusetts, including environmental, motor vehicle and insurance regulatory bodies.

David has tried numerous cases to verdict in federal and state courts from Bridgeport, Connecticut to Springfield, Massachusetts.  He has pursued appeals to the Connecticut Supreme Court, the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the United States Courts of Appeals for the First and Second Circuits.
